4 Tips in 40 Seconds to Delegate More Effectively
Delegating effectively enables a Business Owner to lighten their load and ultimately, step away from the daily grind and work ON the business, not just IN it. The paradox lies in first mastering the art of effective delegation, before freedom can be attained.
Based on my own experience as an Entrepreneur AND loads of trial and error...
Here are 4 Steps You Can Take to Delegate More Effectively:
- First things first: clarify the task, expectations and desired outcome in detail
- Next: supplement the "what you DO want" with clarification on "what you DON'T want"
- Always: open the conversation up for Q&A before allowing them to fully dive into the task/project
- Be Sure To: check in to receive regular progress reports and status updates
BONUS TIPS:
- There's quite a bit of acceptance involved in delegating. Consider what you may need to accept about the process and outcome.
- There's also an opportunity to practice patience and give grace. If your employee is underperforming or struggling, ask questions to get to the bottom of what's happening.
- Share WHY this task matters and why completing it successfully is so important to the overall Vision you have for your COMPANY.
